10 Things I have learned in the past 10 years!

Yeah, I was chilling for the first 12 years of my life :)

1. Music is powerful. Experience it.
Music, according to me, is the best invention by mankind. It can heal the pain (Link). It can make you smile (Link). It can make you cry (Link). It can make you dance (Link). It can inspire you(Link). And, often it will tell you the truth in the funniest way possible (Link). In short, it is powerful. Find the music you love and devote time listening to it. It makes life better.

2. Humans & their obsession of controlling things
After years of noticing people and their actions, I have come to a conclusion, we love to control everything. This leads to frustration and depression. We tend to control things that are not in our control, and as expected, we fail to control 'em. It is time we take charge of our lives and only control things that you can actually control. Leave the rest for someone up there to take care of. She often does a pretty good job at keeping your interests in her mind. Try it.

3. Television has had more adverse effects than benefits
Since I discussed the best invention done by mankind, it is only fair I discuss the worst too. And no, its not television, its the television industry. It's the media. The media who loves to emphasize on everything negative going on around the world. Not their fault either, because it sells. Doesn't matter whose fault it is, what matters is how we are affected by the power of television. Like music, television is pretty powerful too, especially because of it's reach. However, this power, in my opinion, is being misused. The channels today are filled with reality shows that can be synonyms to soft porn. That is not my problem, my problem is, the reality shows are not actually Real! That is my problem. Also, the news! Please perform a small task the next time you watch news. Count the number of negative stories and the number of positive stories that are aired in a span of 1 hr. I'd put my bets on 7:1. This gives us a negative impression about the world, it makes us believe that everything around is messed up. The reality is, its not! Go out there, enjoy the beauty! The couch and that television are subtracting life out of you physically and mentally.

4. The Formula for Success (Literally)

Number of times you fall down + 1 = Number of times you get up
Follow this rule, and you shall lead a happier and better life.

5. Toughest two letter word to say - 'NO'
Everyone of us has been there, some more than the others! What I have learned is that NO is often the toughest thing to say to people, but what I have not been able to learn yet is why is the case! It is important that one learns to say 'No'.. Otherwise we risk getting overwhelmed, we risk relationships, we risk people's trust in our abilities. We often bite more then we can chew, and that is obviously a problem. A big one. So, next time around, when you colleague asks you if you can do something, or if your friends asks for your help, think for moment, and decide if you can really do justice to their ask from you. If you cannot, it is time to pull the trigger and say No. It is better to say No than accept a task and say you weren't able to do it.

6. Passion knows no boundaries
It really doesn't. Find your passion, find your calling, and you will experience the life of abundance. Yeah, I sound like someone who has experienced it. Probably not to the fullest extent, but I have in various small situations in my life. All that matters is passion! Everything else takes a back seat. Your education, your language, your personality, your color. Everything.

7. Power - Another Human Obsession
Evey now and then I see people struggling to gain more power over others. Every now and then I loathe these people. It's just me, and I believe that the world could be a better place if we there was no such thing as power. Relationships are ruined, jobs are lost, countries go on war, just for one simple thing: Power. Get over it, live a life with less power and more happiness!

8. Intuition & It's magic
Nurture your intuition. It will help you make the right decisions during tough times. Trust your intuition, it will often come off right! It's magical, and a magic that you are born with. Dig in deep and uncover it.

9. The most important thing in life...
Do what you love. No matter what people tell you, no matter which career is better than the other. No matter what the analysts predict as the future, do what you love in the present. Thats what matters. Who knows if you'll even be alive to see the future the analysts have predicted. The only way you can do justice to your life is to do what you love and be with people who you love. The single most important thing in life.

10. Love..
I'll need another 10 years to figure this one out. When I do, you'll know!

Love. Harmony. Peace. Humor

9 Reasons why the Kid inside you should never die!

As we grow old, we focus so much on being matured that we kill the kid inside us. We think pretending to be all serious is the way to go to impress people and tell them about your maturity. That's not how you impress people, impress someone by your work, smile, humor and your simple approach to life. Don't kill the kid inside in order to achieve maturity, let the kid inside you take you to the path of maturity. After all, she was the one who learned the hardest skills without being all serious, skills like eating, walking, running, cycling!

Keep a small part of your heart for the kid inside you because it is the best way to keep a small part of your heart soft, receptive and always ready to love again. It's the way to survive and live through the pressures of growing up.

1. The Kid never gives up.
Ever witnessed the infinite attempts that the kid makes while she learns to walk? Falls almost a gazillion times, but never gives up! Imagine if you could apply that to your adult life. You're smart enough to understand the impact!

2. The Kid makes people smile.
Making people around you smile is often the most amazing thing you can feel. The kid often makes people smile with her innocence, her charm, her smile! A smile can often induce a smile.

3. The Kid forgives and forgets.
The Kid never holds any grudges for more than a day, she forgives and she forgets. Holding grudges is probably the worst you could do with the small amount of time you get to live. Life is too short to hate anyone, and everyone makes mistakes. The kid in you helps you in overlooking those mistakes.

4. The Kid loves easily & hates rarely.
The Kid falls in love easily because she doesn't know any other way. Being in love is probably the best you could do with the small amount of time you get to live. Life is too short and not falling in love time and again is the worst you can do. Fall in love, sign up for vulnerability and you will realize that not many will hurt you. Your parents won't, your siblings won't, your friends won't, your partner won't, your pets won't. So why exactly should we give up the feeling of being in love just because a relationship or two didn't work out?

5. The Kid doesn't take NO for an answer.
As we grow up, we start working towards our dreams. It requires a lot of hard work, and courage to choose a path that has not been traveled and achieve the dreams. While we set out on that path, we often stop midway because of 'circumstance'. In fact, some of us never take action to achieve those dreams. However, for a kid, he almost always gets his way through (If its reasonable) by not taking NO for an answer. I agree that this might seem like recipe for disaster when the kid grows up, however, if this trait is channeled in the right direction, it can help you achieve the goals you set for yourself. Imagine if you just didn't take NO for an answer and worked towards getting through by hook or by crook. I like the idea! Decide for yourself.

6. The Kid trusts easily.
As we grow up and pretend to be 'matured', we often find ourselves questioning our trust for people close to us and find it extremely hard to trust new set people. However, I believe, trust is an integral part of living a happy life. Sometimes you just have trust and let got. Other times, your still have to trust! A kid trusts easily, and her trust might be broken by people around her, but, she won't stop trusting new people. If she did, no one would ever have a best friend, right? And that is also the reason why most of our best friends are made early in life. Won't it be cool to find another best friend at the age of 32? I think it will be cool, in fact, super cool!

7. The Kid applies imagination before logic.
Today, we plan our actions and execute our actions only if they logical. We dream logical things. We set logical goals. Everything we do in our career has to pass the logic test. However, IMAGINE that you apply imagination before you apply logic. Imagine that your dreams are made through your imagination without much focus on logic. Now, I am not saying everything you imagine would come true but it will help you innovate and be creative. Sometimes your dreams can be achieved even if they defy logic, and the feeling of achieving those dreams cannot be matched by any drug in this world!

8. The Kid expresses her emotions.
There is a basic rule to life: You have to express your emotions somehow. The kid chooses the best way and lets it out instead of keeping it in. We grow up and learn to box our emotions because of the fear of being judged. Your best friends won't judge you! Your parent won't judge you. All they will do is be with you and correct you if they think you are wrong. If you never expressed, they would never know. Unless they are mind readers. Don't bottle it up, find someone to let it go!

9. The kid believes in learning
As we kid, we learn the most and learn a new thing almost everyday. As we grow old, we tend to focus so much on the job at hand that we forget the importance of learning something new everyday.

Learn. Laugh. Love. Live
Believe in learning, believe in laughter, believing in loving and you will certainly start believing in Living.

Life in College vs (No) Life after College

So, after thinking for hours about what to write, I decided to take a stab at the changes in my life over the course of past two months.

Its been more than two months since I went through the transition of being a irresponsible, careless, always free, irregular schedule college student to someone whose responsibility is to be responsible, careful, fixed schedule worker. In these two months, I have learned a lot about myself, people around me, and general human psychology.

So here are some few key differences between School & Work which you will better off knowing before hand -
1. Remember the days when we did everything in this world to avoid a 8 am class? Remember when we slept till 10-11 because we didn't classes that day? I am sorry to break this out to you, but, you have been scheduled for 8 am classes for the rest of you career. Well almost! No more choosing and avoiding classes, no more being in bed till noon. Get up & get going!

2. You thought school work was intense? You thought meeting deadlines was the worst thing ever? Think about this - You at least knew a week in advance before anything was due. When you are at work, you get to know hours in advance of when something is due. Now, that may not sound that bad, but, we as students, are now used to procrastinating so much in college that its almost impossible to get started without procrastinating & 'getting mentally prepared'

3. Say goodbye to afternoon naps & fiesta lunches!

4. While you are saying goodbye to those two, make sure you bid adios to random fun filled allnighters too. And obviously thirsty thursdays!

5. Ever heard about schedules when you were in School? If not, then you will soon know what I mean! There might be times it will be hard to differentiate between two work days!

6. Oh, remember those days when you had to take the pain of getting your formal clothes ready for a career fair? Well, be ready to take that pain on a regular basis now!

7. At some point, you might also ask yourself that how did you survive before breakfast in college? And, when you do think about that, just try and count the number of days you were awake in time for breakfast when you were in college.

Now that you might be already shit scared to start working, there is one huge difference between School and Work..One that can offset all the disadvantages already mentioned.

You get paid to work while you pay to go School. Money. Moolah. Its an addiction. Makes the impossible, possible!

"You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by. Yes, but some of them are golden only because we let them slip."

No points for guessing the Golden hours of your life.

Letter to God

Dear Story Writer/ Destiny Developer/ Life Controller,

Do you believe in fairy tale endings?
I like to believe that you do.

If you don't, then reconsider the situation in hand -

A boy who started playing the game in the winter of 1989, and stood against one of the most deadly bowling attacks of that time(Pakistan). He took blows on his body, bled from his nose but didn't refuse to continue and help the country. A boy who made the journey toward manhood while playing the beautiful game of cricket.

21 years later, he is about to play his last few matches for the country. In these 21 years, he has broken almost every record that a batsman can dream of, gave nightmares to bowlers, helped the country win umpteen number of times and still remained as humble as a legend can ever be.

For years, he was the lone bullock who carried the cart which had 10 other Indians. For years, he scored centuries only to see his teammates negate the effect. For years, he believed in the team and gave his all to help the country win matches. And in all these years, never did he ever complaint about the lack of support or the criticism he received for not helping the country win.

However, after all these years, he now has a team that is CAPABLE of supporting him. He is not the lone bullock anymore.

Now is the time for his dream to come true. A dream he had for the past 21 years. He lost his father in the process of achieving it once, but didn't give up the dream. On other times, carried the team till the finish line, only to see them give up just before the end!

He gets a shot at fulfilling his dream, one more time! One last time. And for what he has done for the country, it is only fair that his teammates repay him by supporting him fulfilling his dream. We can be rest assured he will be at his best, all we do need is some average cricket from the other 10 players.

It is time for us, the crowd of 1 billion people, to pray for him and our country. It is time for the universe to conspire and grant the wish of 1 billion people. It is time for the story writer, the life controller, the destiny developer to make this a fairy tale ending.
It is time for the God of Cricket to receive a a gift from the God of this world.
It is time for little master to achieve what he truly deserves.

IT is time for the showdown!

Hey You! Yes, You.

You make me smile and smile so often that I hate to say goodbye!

You make me laugh, and laugh so often that I hate to be alone
You make me think, and think so often that I hate to have met you so late
You make my ears red, and red so often that I believe in emotions again
You make me strong, and strong so often that I almost love to be weak sometimes
You make me understand, and understand so often that I thank god for blessing me with an angel

You make me believe in the small joys of life, and do it so often that I often feel I missed out on so much in life
You make me share, and share so often that I feel light like a butterfly
You kindle me, and kindle me so often that I feel inspired
You make me love, and love so often that I believe in love again

You make me smile and smile so often that I hate to say goodbye! ♥

Brilliance, I say!

"Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life."

Even if You Don't Read This, You'll Survive

This is a guest post written by EternallyBuzzing

~

Things that life has taught me so far.

How to deal with “Why me” situations

Everybody has those, no one has a life so meticulously sorted that nothing but good happens. So every time you have the aforementioned feeling, let’s look in the direction of Charlie Sheen. Lucky now, aren’t we. That guy has some issues. So it’s imperative you move past them. Stronger, brushing the dust off.

How to handle the “nobody loves me” moments.

Not true. People love Lady Gaga too, and she is a FREAK of nature. Be yourself. Someone somewhere will love you despite your imperfections. In some cases they’ll not even hold your perfection against you.

Dance like no one’s watching.

When you let go of your inhibitions, you can really know what you’re capable of. And even if you wind up making a fool of yourself, heck, at least you won’t spend the rest of your life in anxiety. In the context of dancing, it’s way too much fun.

Telling someone how you really feel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUe3sbtqI2Q

Enough said. Why would you want to miss out on the opportunity of having something possibly wonderful just cause your rationale won’t accept it?

Pets are awesome listeners.

They don’t judge. Their heart is pure. And they have no cruel intentions. They can’t communicate in a language that you can understand and their feelings are latent but their love is real.

P.s : So DD, it’s time you learn to love them :)

Music heals.

There’s a song for every mood. So if nothing else helps, music will.

Being open minded is crucial.

You can possibly lose out on the best things in life by being a judge of everything around. Open your mind, and you’ll really live. Open your mind to the eating food you’ve never eaten, listening to the songs you’ve never heard, DANCE if you’ve never before, make friends with people who you think could never be your friends and living the life without boundaries.

Chocolate helps.

Science has proved it. I was never the one to disagree. But for all you non believers, proof that God loves us.

Smiling is contagious.

I disregarded this as the greatest myth of all time till I realized how true it is. You smile at me ( i won’t think you’re crazy) I’ll smile at some one else and the someone else does it to someone else. It’s contagiously awesome.

Snap it up.

Just because I couldn’t come up with something clever, doesn’t mean you waft pass this one. Memories are amazing. Evidence of memories, even better. It’s important to mentally and physically capture moments. Moments of everything. Carry a camera. So that you can look back and relive. Collect movie tickets ( i collect fortunes from cookies too), remnants from an awesome day, anything and everything that can remind you to what a wonderful time you had.

Karaoke.

Try IT. and LOVE IT.

Run, work out, work hard.

Your body is a temple. It’s sacrosanct. It deserves to be nurtured (after all the alcoholic destruction :P) Work out. It’s good for you.

Be happy.

Because you need to be. Someone out there hopes that you always will be.

=) Love

P
